Free mix download: The Party & The Afterparty Part I

So here's the story: I have these two half-hour mixes that were supposed to be my contributions to a couple different mix projects. Unfortunately, those projects fell apart, but I think the mixes are still worth putting out there (though they're each more than a year old at this point).

Seeing as how one is an uptempo disco mix and the other is a slower soul mix, I thought it was a perfect callback to the days of actual mixtapes (you know, on cassettes), where you could set it up like the A side was one thing, and the B side was its opposite. Of course, nobody actually rocks tapes anymore, but I still like the concept. So the whole thing is called The Party & The Afterparty, with the disco side being the party musicand the soul side setting the mood for settling down into the afterparty.

Now that you know the concept, check out the music! Here is side A, the disco side. It's some quality disco breaks, some with hip-hop vocals on top, some edited a bit, all of 'em funky. Enjoy! And stay tuned for side B to be posted next week.
